In the three considered stories, the Christian faith is perhaps the strongest standard element, proving that the influence of this religion, spans centuries, even during predominantly pagan times. This use of Christianity does not encompass all, however. The strong pagan religion does come through, displayed by the idea of fate. All in all, Christianity does play an important role in literature, and it probably always will.
