…end to the Cold War. These 44 years of the Cold War could have easily been avoided. Communism did not turn out to be the big threat that we had made it out to be. The Soviet Union was not nearly as powerful as we had feared. Although we avoided nuclear war, we could have avoided the Cold War all together with a little bit of communication. In the future we should remember not to over-react.
