compare and contrast
In both passages A and B, authors Jones and Theroux talk about snow. They both jump straight into describing the snow to create a visual image for the readers. For example, the opening paragraph of passage A states: A real-life, in your face blizzard. In comparison, passage B starts off with this sentence: It clung thickly to the rooftops where it was nearly blue. I also noticed that within both of the texts there seemed
written by a journalist (Duane Jones) as an article. You can see this by the way the text is written with its fast-pace and also by the use of media-like vocabulary. In passage B, the author (Paul Theroux) wrote the text as a novel. Another reason why the two texts have been written totally different is the year both were written in. Text A was written in 1996 whereas text B was written in 1979. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ **Bibliography**
