Neurosis shows up in many forms including rationalization, denial, hatred, or reaction formation. The last problem is called psychosis. Stemming from disturbed thinking, it can be cause by anything. With totally distorted thoughts, the subject may hear non-existent voices, have amnesia, ramble meaninglessly, or claim to have visions from spirits.
