French vs American Revolution

Both revolutions succeeded, but neither of them on the first try. Americans succeeded first, probably because all of them believed in the cause, they were united. The French were still divided, arguing about the best course of action. The arguing slowed things down, and in some cases made progress impossible, or close to impossible.
