Kino and the Pearl
The conflict in the story is between Kino and the pearl. His wife Juana warns him that it is evil and should be thrown back into the ocean, but he is too stubborn and greedy to do it. When the book begins it is a calm soothing setting. Kino is describing life and the wonderful song of the family. Juana is preparing breakfast and making corncakes. All this warmth changes as soon as Kino spots
all the trackers and him and Juana set for their journey home. The resolution of the story is when the baby dies. The pearl was meant as a way to save Kino's and his family, but all it ended up doing was destroying them. Because of Kino and his greed his only child died. He kept the pearl because all the hopes and aspirations for his son were in it and now Coyotito is dead.
