Medieval towns were much more advanced then the feudal world surrounding them. These medieval towns popped up all over medieval Europe in the sites of the old cities. With so much commercial expansion, much conflict came about that helped spark competition and work within the guilds. Medieval cities were a giant advancement from the small feudal world that surrounded them. The medieval cities not only advanced what that feudal villages had, but created new ideas and helped bring Europe out of its commercial slump.
