…their wrath, Oedipus blinded himself tragically and symbolically, and then is regarded as a national hero, A man of altruism? Or a man desperate to recapture his national regard through pity from the state and its people? If sight is knowing, and darkness is not knowing, then Oedipus chose his fate beautifully, for his actions caused him to wander the world bind, rather than face of fury of the gods, and well, ignorance is bliss.
