Poverty

Poverty is the state of being poor. It is not having enough money to take care of basic needs such as food, clothing, and housing. This is the definition according to the dictionary but the meaning is much deeper. Poverty is a family of four lying on the ground in sub-freezing temperatures with only a cardboard box and a blanket to guard against the frozen ground and bitter cold temperatures. …mean that they have no choice. There have been no successful solutions to this ongoing social problem and our government has made many attempts. Most American citizens have pity when they look at the homeless, but cringe when actually asked for help. Consequently, very few citizens know anything about the homeless or their problems.
