There was definitely a need to ban it during times of war due to the anti-patriotic feelings it could inspire, but it should only, from now on, be banned from public high school's curriculums because they are supported by the government. Johnny Got His Gun should, though, be available to any American citizen wishing read it. This is, after all, a free country.
