The constitution was passed, and for the first time the US had a central government and a new branch, the executive, most saw it as a necessary evil. Many did distrust it and wanted to curb its power as not to get another dictator this time on US soil. The constitution was debated years latter on how it was to be interpreted, and amendments were made.
