…to which those citizens belong. The challenge of our modern democracy is to reconcile these interests; a challenge that has been difficult to meet. However, we can successfully meet this challenge by supporting all kinds of committed relationships and, in turn, put an end to discrimination by legalizing same-sex marriages. Although many feel uncomfortable with the idea of same-sex marriage, its emergence seems inevitable. As Americans, we are all entitled to the pursuit of happiness.
