The 1995 Tokyo Sarin Subway Attacks On March 20, 1995, a nerve gas believed to be sarin was released in Tokyo. What Aum Shinrikyo did was more than attack the people on the subway. They shocked the world with mindless brutality. Considering domestic and international terrorism, it seems that the terrorists and religious cults aren't really fighting for some ideal or a piece of land. They just wish to kill. (Pollack, 1995)
