A Wel-rounded Perspective of Jonathan Kozol's "Savage Inequalities"

This article, "Savage Inequalities", by Jonathan Kozol presents an extremely controversial issue. Educational Inequality is a familiar topic in most sociologists' and ordinary citizens' thoughts and conversations. Some people, most likely those who are subject to the effects of the inequality, are activists who are trying to boost equality for children in our educational system. Stratification seems to be a positive thing when looking at it from our view, but Jonathan Kozol tunnels through the false images most Americans have of poor cities in his research written in "Savage Inequalities." Each of the eight theorists written about are from different sociological perspectives and their theories all can be applied to the seemingly persistent issue of social inequality.
