Instead of hunting, they used their domesticated animals for food, and instead of gathering, they planted and grew their own crops. This huge step forward in the humans' way of life enabled them to begin civilizations, branch off into their own trade and craft specialization, domesticate animals, and produce their own food and live as they pleased.
