A critical summary of the concept of emotional intelligence

…have argued "that by itself emotional intelligence probably is not a strong predictor of job performance. Rather it provides a bedrock for competencies that are" (Cherniss 2000). It is also hard to prove that tests which claim to measure emotional intelligence are actually accurate, or give a good insight into that particular persons emotional characteristics, even by combining emotional intelligence and IQ tests we still may not have all the information needed to make reliable predictions.
