Abortion-A Woman's Right

During the late 1960s the number of illegal abortions preformed annually in the United States was estimated to be from 200,000 to 1.2 million (Jost 260). In 1965, an estimated 200 women died from crudely administered, illegal abortions (260). Even after abortion was legalized, it was still an extremely controversial subject with two very distinct sides. …forcing unwanted child births and fathers murdering daughters who ask for an abortion. In the Declaration of Independence it says peoples are "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Life, being a woman's right to live the way she wants. Liberty, a woman's right to make choices of her own. Happiness, a woman's right to not sacrifice her happiness for an unwanted child.
