…Buddhism offers us a way to deny the world and to deny ourselves. In choosing to live the life that Gautama chose, we are choosing to devote ourselves not only to eventually find our way out of the suffering world, but we are choosing to stay behind for a while in order to save those that we love from the same thing. Selflessness is the center of what Buddha had planned for us to understand.
