Alfred Stieglitz and his Impact on Photography

Alfred Stieglitz probably did more than any other individual to promote photography as an art at the same level as other arts, and has been dubbed the "patron saint of straight photography." Due to his experience in Germany, he was able to help bring the modernistic views of Europe to America. He became an authority in his field and brought a great amount of recognition to photography, but most importantly he dedicated his life to an art form involving infinite patience and passion.
