Algea

Algae are simple water plants. They contain chlorophyll and photosynthesize (retain water, light and carbon dioxide to produce food and oxygen). They are eukaryotic having a full fledged nucleus, and contrary to prokaryotic cells, they have cell walls usually composed of cellulose. …more into a sporophyte. Algae produce a vast amount oxygen and only ask for little in return. They are varied amongst each other in terms of size and lifestyles but yet they are also very similar. They all need water and light, they all photosynthesize and they all producers. Algae are simple aquatic creatures which play an important role in allowing us to understand plant life, mostly because of their simple format and ancestral background.
