…but in Italy these problems were less apparent due to less class consciousness, the division in the Italian states and the Austrian rule to the north east. Therefore in Italy political problems were more important than social and economic even though these did exist. The Italian revolution also had one defining factor to its cause which was the Austrian rule unlike the French revolution which was a combination of many factors, mainly economic and social.
