Andresas Vesalius

Andreas Vesalius was born December 31, 1514 in Brussels, Belgium. He died on October 15, 1564 in Zenta Greece. His nationality was Belgian. Vesalius's life work was that of an anatomist. Andreas was the founder of modern anatomy. "His major work, DE HUMANI CORPORIS FABRICA, is a milestone in scientific progress"(1). …he did have to suddenly return to Spain because he was asked to take the chair of the recently deceased Fallopio in Padua, where he worked and studied. However, on his way back Vesalius died on the island of Zenta, which lies of the Greek coast. He landed there from a boat accident and just the conditions were too severe for him to hold on to and he slipped away at the age of 41 in 1564 (15).
