Animal Testing

For about the past 20 years or so, a heated debate has been ongoing about whether scientific or medical testing on animals is ethical. Many people believe a sot or cost-benefit analysis should be done. The costs being the pain and distress caused to the animal. The benefits being the knowledge gained and how well the therapies can be applied to humans. Sadly however, apparently the benefits outweigh the costs. Scientists say animal experiments are poorly …

…testing claim there are no accurate alternatives to the real thing. Such an alternative, not so accurate is used on a computer but does not show enough complexity of the animal. If other methods were available, they would be given an equal opportunity. But as of now no alternatives good enough exist. It is said that if what we know now learned from animal research was taken away, we would be in a primitive age.
