Arctic Hot Spot?

In an article found on MSNBC, the article claimed scientists had found an Arctic Hot Spot, but in reality it was not a hot spot they had found, but just highly active area of the Gakkel Ridge, shown in polar projection map at left, which is just a segment of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. …was to look at the definition for the phrase hot spot again you would find that the ridge is more than simply a part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, in the most remote and deepest part of the oceanic ridge system, below the Arctic Ocean, it is a hot spot like the volcanic activity that takes place in Iceland, a rare circumstance where hot spots occur not only within plate boundaries but on the plate boundary.
