Arguments for the dissolution of NATO

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has run its respective course. The alliance is no longer a feasible option in the post cold war world with the dissolution of the Soviet Union. NATO acts as an obstacle in the peace process when the United Nations (UN) is seen as a much more credible peacekeeping force than an outdated military alliance. …option. The only peacekeeping force that should be supported is one that is sanctioned by the U.N. The United Nations is made up of 185 member nations from around the globe, while NATO is made up of twenty-six, mostly European countries. NATO served it's purpose and deterred the Soviet menace from conquering Western Europe. Nations do not have friends, they have common interests. Now it is time to rely and trust in the U.N.
