Assisted Suicide
Physician-assisted suicide occurs when a physician facilitates a patient's death by providing the necessary means and/or information to enable the patient to perform the life-ending act (Physician-Assisted Suicide). Physician-assisted suicide is illegal in most states with the only exception being Oregon. Unfortunately, physician-assisted suicide has been gaining support over the past half century in the United States. Although physician-assisted suicide has been gaining support, physician-assisted suicide is wrong and should not be practiced in
sight for either side, assisted suicide is wrong and other options should be explored. Some of these other options are palliative care and the treatment of depression. Also, assisted suicide should be avoided because of the possible complications that can result from the attempt of assisted suicide.
