Over the last hundred years, Americans have loved and treasured the sport of baseball. The game has been called America's Pastime for many reasons. This is the land that baseball started, progressed, and consumed the hearts of many individuals. For years it was the only professional sport America had to offer. In the early 1900's the sport was over glamorized because of household legends like Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, and Ted Williams. Almost every kid
seen a huge transformation because of the strike in 1994, steroid use, and the gaining popularity of football and basketball. Fans are fed up with what many call a business rather than a game. Without fans, there is no revenue. Without revenue there is no salaries. Without salaries, there is no game. The sport is not progressing and many have lost the love of the game. Baseball is not America's Pastime. Baseball is simply America's past.
