Biography of the First Portuguese Royal Family

The most interesting family for me lived back in the beginning of the 1100's. The level of bravery, honor, compassion, love, secretism, and loyalty makes this fairy-tale story the foundation and becoming of Portugal. It all began with the beginning of the Islamic religion. Mohammed had began the Islamic religion, and with its strong supporters began the conquering of most of Europe. The Iberian Peninsula (Portugal and Spain) had been taken over by the Moors (…

…but the southernmost province before he died. It took three more dynasties after him to finish conquering the rest of what is Portugal. This beginning of Portugal seems very much like something Shakespeare would have written. But the faithfulness to his fathers' dream and faith in God, not only did he fight the rest of his family, but fought the odds. This is one of the many colourful events that Portuguese history is comprised of.
