Book Review: "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu
"The Art of War" by Sun Tzu is the oldest military classic known to the world. It is estimated that Sun Tzu lived as far back as the fifth century B.C., around the same time as the famous Chinese philosopher Confucius. It is among the most well-known and esteemed military texts known to man. This version was translated by Lionel Giles in 1910. This was the first accurate translation of the book in English, and
of this book by far is the excellent commentary. Without it, the book would be nearly impossible for the average person to understand. It thoroughly explains each of Sun Tzu's statements with a short, easy to read annotation. The commentary is what makes the book worthwhile to read. Sun Tzu's The Art of War is not a must-read book, but it should be a worth while read for those of slightly higher than average intelligence.
