Many Americans are living with a diagnosis of cancer. Researchers are learning more and more about what causes cancer. Looking into how it grows, and progresses. They are looking for better ways to detect, prevent, and treat the people diagnosed. These researchers, who have been looking for a cure, or at best, better treatment for many years. …trying to help. There are many other possibilities that a cancer patient has, I am just describing the, who, what, why, when, how; and my personal experiences. "You did not choose to be a cancer patient. Right now not having cancer is not and option." (Hoffman pg, 101) In spite of the devastating illness that is cancer, I hope that this begins to explain the difficulties, the dreams, and the hopes that these unfortunate people have.
