After almost 200 years, slavery still has not been fully abolished. We as members of western civilization are still actively involve in slavery in the form of child labor. Child labor is any economic activity performed by someone younger than of age fifteen (Otis et al. 612). Therefore child domestic servants are children under the age of 15 who are forced to work in households or factories against their own will for promise of pay or remuneration or
child slavery; consumers must make a choice as to whether they are willing to forego some of consumables that are regularly consumed in order to help children in foreign countries and to combat child slavery. These children have been denied education, a normal childhood, and some even freedom of movement. If the United States is to continue the press for open markets around the world, we must link free trade agreements and child labor protections.
