Choice vs. Tradition, marriages.

In some traditional Indian societies, marriages are arranged by parents or families. In some cases, the couple does not see each other until the day of their wedding. In others, they can date with chaperones a few times, with the knowledge that they are getting married. Some couples are allowed to meet alone and get to know each other before the marriage. …few times, this does not qualify as dating and does not show true character. Someone could be seriously abusive or have major character flaws and it is not realized until after marriage. This could prove to be dangerous. There are too many arguments to be made when comparing these two cultures' forms of mate selection. It is up to each individual person to decide which method is best for them, and live with the consequences.
