Christian Fundamentalism has the potential to prevent the movement forward of human rights across the globe. Christian Fundamentalist groups almost unilaterally oppose gay rights. They have always been at the fore-front of any opposition against such gay issues as gay couple recognition, gay adoption and most recently, the heavily debated topic of gay marriage.
