Claude Monet was born November 14, 1840 in rue Laffite, Paris. His family moved to Le Harve in 1845, where Monet's father entered a business venture with his brother in law. Monet began school in 1951 where he began to learn drawing from Francois-Charles Orchard. He missed all of his deadlines for the work almost abandoned his project all together. Monet was diagnosed with pulmonary sclerosis in the beginning of 1926. He died on December 5, 1926. His Water Lilies murals were officially dedicated to the Orangerie May 27, 1927.
