…They proposed putting a ten year ban on human cloning while still allowing for research and experiments to be done with specific tissue, like muscle, nerves, and skin. They argued that such research was imperative for the advancement of treatments of a variety diseases. The White House under the Clinton Administration supported a similar proposal that would not outlaw cloning molecules, DNA, cells, tissue or animals; it would only ban the use of human cloning.
