The footage, interviews, sounds, and narration need to be true to the topic and not used to misconstrue the reality. A good filmmaker will not bring his or her repertoire of experience or views to alter the truth. I believe documentaries should follow my guidelines instead of being a creative treatment of reality, which leaves them vulnerable to becoming absolute fiction.
