Crucifixion and the way we live our lives.

Today in class, I realized that I had for years taken the Crucifixion more or less for granted. That I had grown indifferent or perhaps that I never really thought of it as a very gruesome way to die. Today was the first time that the actual medical presentation of how Christ died on the cross and all the pain and punishment that he endured hit me somewhere deep in my heart. What a terrible …

…metaphor. The life and death of Jesus was a metaphor for the way we should conduct our lives. Jesus never strayed from His objective which was to teach us unconditional love and acceptance towards each other. His death was a testimony that salvation is a reality for all of us when we voice our faith. Jesus gave us a lesson in forgiveness while He hung there upon the cross suffering for us, dying for us.
