Direct democracy

Should Canadians have a direct democracy? Are the Canadian people capable of making decisions for themselves or should they elect people that can make the decisions for them? We here in Canada claim to be a nation of democracy, but in truth we are not. …to vote. The party leader is not accountable to the individual ridings that his party members have come from, he is accountable to his party, and the financial backers of his party. So at times he will! ask his party members to vote for something his own riding may not want.
