Osteoporosis is the disease and it is the process whereby the bones get weak and brittle which is caused by bone loss. This loss weakens the bones and can cause fractures in the hip, wrist, spine, or elsewhere. The older we get we lose more bone than our bodies can make. It is also a disease in which bones become fragile and more likely to break. Osteoporosis is commonly perceived as an illness of women;
