Do the risks of our continued use of fossil fuels at the current levels outweigh the benefits?

The risks of using fossil fuels, such as hydrocarbons and petrochemicals at the current levels are detrimental and irreversible to the environment and society as a whole. All of the consequences previously mentioned affect human beings in one way or another. Whether it be deaths as a result of more flooding or the possibility of a decrease of food supply in the future, the risks of our continued use of fossil fuels at the current rate definitely outweighs the benefits.
