The realisation of the importance of embracing ecommerce is evident through the Caribbean Ecommerce initiative spearheaded by the Caribbean Export Development Agency which has launched an ecommerce platform that makes it easy for governmental agencies and trade groups to form integrated marketplaces and for companies of any size to sell through those marketplaces and their own websites. However, this new marketplace has numerous opportunities as well as threats for the Caribbean.
