Education
As a learner, I have always believed in independent and active learning followed by some direct instructions given by a teacher or an expert. The direct instruction helps me in the beginning, when a new topic or experience is introduced. However, in order to master a topic I have to practice on my own, that is, solve similar problems or repeat the experiment with a slightly different setting. Just like Illustrated in "Learning to See,"
lecture can substitute. That is a way that many scientists call a scientific method, in which one does the experiment and explains its outcomes. That is the way in which the actual learning takes place for me. What I like about this approach is that I learn from my own mistakes, trials and errors. When I cannot get the right result, I always try the experiment over and over, each time evaluating my own work.
