…character was garbed in black. That symbolized him being an outcast and the towns colored uniform houses as the norm of society. Edward had now disrupted the norm and what first was acceptance turned to disapproval and banishment. This of course was the trend wearing-out and the community looking for something new to cause controversy. This leaves me to conclude that the underlying theme of this interesting and funny movie is sociological and psychological trends.
