Edward Weston
In 1886 Edward H. Weston was born in Highland Park Illinois and then was raised in Chicago. He went to The Oakland Grammar School and at 16 years of age he received his first camera form his father. In his spare time he took pictures in Chicago parks as well as his aunts farm. he worked as an errand boy and a salesman for Marshall field and company. In 1906 he went to California where he held down
was when Willard Van Dyke made a film about him called The Photographer. Shortly after the film was made he was struck down with the Parkisons Disease. His last photograph was taken in 1948. Over the next 10 years he became more and more ill and left the printing up to two of his sons, Brett and Cole. His 5th anniversary portfolio came out in 1952. The great Edward Weston died in his home in Carmel on January 1, 1958.
