…himself more important in the world than they were, which contradicted his statement of having equality for Africans in the world. It is sad to realize that while the few people like Livingston were trying to make the lives of Africans better by giving them a chance at equality, others took the opportunity to use it for their own good, and thereby taking any equality the Africans had right from under their feet.
