The United States of America currently stands alone in a unique position upon the world stage. After nearly fifty years as the anchor upon one side of a bipolar system, the U.S. now finds itself as the only remaining superpower. …is unthinkable for the current climate. But how long can the current unipolar moment last? The rise of China and the coalescence of the European Union are two strong factors that may in time come to balance out the world system and put an end to United States Hegemony. But just not yet. As far as the ESDI and the fledgling European military identity are concerned, this worm needs more time before it rises fully.
