Explanation for why the Big 3 at Versailles were in such disagreement.

The "Big 3", Georges Clemenceau, Woodrow Wilson and Lloyd George, disagreed so strongly on the Treaty of Versailles because it was no more than a compromise, it satisfied nobody. All three of them had a different stance on whether or not the treaty was satisfactory. While Clemenceau's main objective was to bring Germany to its knees, Wilson's was to bring upon the land a time of peace and friendship. Lloyd George's stance came roughly between that of France and America. All this is grounds for their lack of acceptance for each other's ideas.
