…At ninety words, this is the longest verse in the Bible. The author repeatedly mentions that the decree for the Jews to be slaughtered could not be rescinded because the laws of the Medes and Persians couldn't be altered. However, the Jews were allowed to defend themselves in a kind of civil war of which there is no record of anywhere else. These events and thus the whole basis of the story are completely implausible.
