Greed is part of a human's natural inclination and when one finds a way to prosper or benefit from a certain situation, sometimes it doesn't matter how illegal or just the case, that person would do whatever it takes to come out on top with the benefits. Corruption was popular as well as the norm for the judicial system and its courts; power was the ruling decision, just or unjust.
