…of incarcerations before thesociety at large is purged of the bad influences of capitalism,authoritarianism, and chauvinism. It is the ultimate goal of anAnarchist society to do away with prisons altogether. We can begin byreleasing all those unnecessarily incarcerated under the current systemand closing those prisons where they were held. Afterwards, as societyis transformed and prison populations dwindle we can systematically closeand dismantle all the remaining prisons as the need to banish violentcriminals is minimized.
